Here are a few of the early thumbs I did for the Scare Crow. I always like to begin the whole process of character design with small ideations, to quickly explore the various directions a specific character can go.

A great part of this process for me is when I exhaust the ideas and directions in my head, and that forces me to step into directions that I'm not used to or that are new to me. I get to learn new things about the subject, and a lot of times that is when some of my favorite designs are created.

Good to see new stuff up. I like the shapes you have here. I'm interested in the "missing brain" hole in the head designs!

I was just thinking, and I am sure you have your own thing going, but it might be cool if he had a zipper or sack-like head where he keeps putting things in to try and see if they are a brain or a suitable substitute for one. The items might give him different powers. It's just a thought.

JP,
Hey I love your idea about having the Scare Crow put different things in his empty head!

I can see him not knowing what a brain is so he puts what ever he finds in there thinking it is a brain, then acting all proud because he thinks he has a brain. Mean while the rest of the gang is like 'No that's and onion', or "No that's a shoe".

Nikki had an idea that a family of Crows had made a nest where his brain should be.

Great idea man! Hope all's well.

Mike,

Thanks man, see if I can't get some work posted every week.

But I heard Blue Sky has hot new artist starting there, I can't wait to see he creates over there.

Although we have differences in culture, but do not want is that this view is the same and I like that!

I can see him not realizing what a cerebrum is so he puts what ever he finds in there supposing it is a mind, then acting all pleased in light of the fact that he supposes he has a cerebrum. Mean while whatever remains of the posse resemble 'No that is and onion', or "No that is a shoe".
