Here's a piece I did for a good buddy I worked with, who loves maple syrup almost as much as he does character modeling :) Definitely one of those rare artists and all around good guy. He rocked the player character model in the 1313 trailer, you can take a peek at some of his other work here. Wishing you the best in your next adventure!!!
I had a bit of my work posted up a some cool sites with other inspiring work, peep em' if you get a chance, How to Carve Roast Unicorn, Geek Art, and Geek Tyrant.

Ralph McQuarrie Tribute

I was super sad to hear of Ralph McQuarrie's passing earlier this month. He was by far one of the Godfathers in film and entertainment design. One of those rare artists who was equally talented when it came to creating characters, creatures, environments, vehicles, aliens. And amazingly he not only did concept and production art, but even matte paintings used in original StarWars films. I always felt an amazing heart in his work, he definitely was a great inspiration.

Thanks for all the comments on the last piece. By the way I was completely unaware
that HellBoy met his end in the comic :( but was excited to hear he'd be living on in
the new series HellBoy in Hell, with Mignola returning as full time artist :)!!!

Here's a set of characters I did for my friends wedding. They had a really cool idea of having a different character for each table at the reception instead of numbers. My girlfriend helped me out by painting the Ninja, you can see her blog here. The wedding was a blast!

Here are some photos of a piece I did with a great group of artist that go under the title 218. This is bit different than how I usually work, I started out just wanting to do some character designs over a fixed silhouette. And since I've always like the shapes bottles (great silhouettes). I combined the two and this is what I came up with.I had a blast working on this and with the 218 group, I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

I little while back I caught the Totoro Forest Project show at the Cartoon Art Museum and needless to say I was blown away by the collective work of all the great artists who contributed to it. It was inspiring to say the least.Afterwards a few of us stopped at Mel's for a bite and I did this little sketch in between eating my burger and munching on fries.
Happy new year all!
