First of all thanks for all the feedback from those who gave it, it was all right on. I'm going to do some more explorations with this character and include your feedback with a few other things I'v been thinking.
This piece was really just me working towards posing out my characters vs the static pose, and you can see the blue pencil I like to work with. Again any comments or crits are welcome
Very striking. The wow factor is in full effect. Can't wait to see more man!
ReplyDeleteAmazing drawing, man. Theese last concepts you've been posting add a very welcome deepness to traditionals Fairy Tales. A rare and really cool thing to see! Cheers.
ReplyDeletethat is SICK dela
ReplyDeletebest witch yet, love the shapes
did your scanner make those background motion blur flight lines on accident? because that's neat hahaha
Dela, thats awesome man, its always inspiring to see your work. Hope we can have lunch soon at work.
ReplyDeleteVery attractive this small witch!
ReplyDeleteSup Del,
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff man, as usual yer skills with the col-erase is awesome. You know I love the technique, but somethin kinda bugged, it's the weight. I was thinking it would be cool, even though the broom is magic, that it still supported and showed the weight of the witch on it. Maybe it bowed a little bit, or maybe it had more of a ngarled build up of branches where she sat on the broom... something that showed how something like that broom was able to support her.
sweet stuff in the end, always a treat. Thanks for sharing man.
Now THAT'S a wicked witch with a switch,...bitch.
ReplyDeleteSo...suppose you took this to painting. What colors/patterns/materials/blemishes, if any, would you have for the several layers of cloth on her? I only ask because you're a really detailed guy, and there's not a lot of variation in the different layers of cloth. Won't matter much now but I think it's worth it to indicate that this layer's tattered and is used as an overcoat made of thicker wool, and this layer's more the shoal she might drape over her head and its got a couple feather charms for ... whatever, and this layer's the Borat thong.
I find it helps thinking about and indicating that stuff going forward even just at a high level, to avoid layering of the same cloth over and over again.
great design and gesture
ReplyDeletethat is so awesome
